If you are an employer, you are aware that the annual P35 efiling deadline is not far away – 23 February next.
Revenue have recently issued an eBrief to assist employers. They are highlighting an error that is cropping up for a number of employers. Where an employer pays medical insurance for employees and it is a BIK, this need to be recorded as part of the P35.
In a small number of cases identified, employers have incorrectly recorded the value of the actual tax relief due for the medical insurance premium paid by the employer instead of the amount of Medical Insurance that is eligible for tax relief in the box provided.
